Butterkäse (“butter cheese”) is a yellow semi-hard cheese with a mild to mildly acidic flavour and some small holes. Its consistency is creamy and firm.
Butter cheese is perfect for cheese platters, as an in-between snack or for gratinating. Due to its mild taste it is very famous among kids and the ideal topping for sandwiches.
